We provide respite home care in Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey and the surrounding area to care for your loved one short-term while you take a well-earned break.
If you care for a loved one full time, you will know how exhausting it can be – physically, mentally and emotionally. It’s important for Care Givers to get a break to recharge and keep themselves healthy.
Types of respite care
We offer a number of different respite care packages, covering both residential and specialist dementia care. We also offer convalescence
packages for those who need extra help following an accident or operation. Additionally, we tailor our flexible packages in line with the needs of your loved one.
We consider all aspects in our care plan from personal care, assistance with bathing, dressing and using the toilet. We also offer assistance in doing housework, going shopping, or reminding clients to take medicine.
How long does respite care last?
The duration of respite care depends on your individual requirements. It could be just a few days, a couple of weeks or even months. Our aim is to ensure you have enough support so you can relax in the knowledge that your loved one is in good hands. Looking after your own well-being is an essential part of caring for someone, and sometimes that means taking a break.
Do I need to take a break?
In almost every case, the answer to this is ‘yes’.
You may be worried about having a stranger take over the care of a loved one – you may think they won’t do things right, there will be a personality clash, or worry you can’t trust them. However. we are happy to talk through your concerns and reassure you that your loved one will be in safe hands.
We will discuss the client’s individual needs with you in detail to ensure we can provide the level of care that’s right for both of you. All of our Care Givers are highly-trained professionals and would ensure proper support is provided.
If you’re thinking of short-term residential care you will be offered a visit to the home to make sure you’re happy for your loved one to stay there.
We understand how hard it is to leave your loved one in someone else’s care, but with many years of experience in providing permanent and respite home care in Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey and the surrounding area, we are confident that we can give you the reassurance you need.
What to do next?
Taking that first period of respite can be tough. However, once you feel the benefits to your health and well-being you will realize how important taking regular breaks is to delivering the best possible care.
